HELP: System Admin button is gone!!!!

the admin account no longer has the system admin button, only the forum one. What could have happened and how do I fix that?

haisam:

your answer is not so difficult, just do a little search as i did:

http://www.yoursite.com/modules/system/admin.php?fct=groups

use that link and update all your groups and permissions...don't change the permissions, just click on the groups you have and then the submit button.

but when I do that I get this error:

Selected module does not exist!

but

http://mysite/admin.php?fct=groups

does'nt show the groups

Did you exactly use your domainname? Otherwise i can imagine that it won't work... Maybe your running a test website on your localhost then the address would look like this...

http://localhost/modules/system/admin.php?fct=groups

Yes, and remember to login as admin first, then go to the "webmasters" group, put a checkmark in all the "system admin" boxes and then click "update"

Xoops often defaults to having no checkmarks in these boxes and when you click on update when visiting the webmasters group you lose your system admin rights, a fairly common happening..
