Whenever I try to upload movies to my downloads area I get a media upload area. Any idea what might be causing this? Anyone ::looks around as the crickets chirp::

I'm getting the same problem with all files!

I'm assuming you're talking about 'My Downloads RC1' that allows uploading?

I just put it on and when I go to submit a file it just says:

Media Upload Errors
No file uploaded
If the page does not reload automatically... blah blah

I have left my upload folder to "upload" (no trailing slash) and ensured it is chmod 777. I have also chmod 777 (-R) the images folder in mydownloads.

I have even tried uninstalling the whole module, deleting the module and replacing it with the RC1 and reinstalling but the same error remains.

I have tried to upload .ace, .zip and .jpg files all with no joy.

Sorry I can't offer any assistance lajab, hopefully someone will notice this thread and help though. :) Were you able to upload any files at all or have you only tries movies?

Have you checked the config page where you select which filetypes are allowed??

Herko, thanks for the quick reply.

Yes I have selected (highlighted) all the files times on that config page, including 'unknown'. I have allowed uploads and I have set the Maximum upload size to a rediculous 90000000 to make sure it can upload the 4mb file I wanted.

Ok I just tried with a .doc and it worked?!

So now my question is similar to the original posters... why don't .zip and .ace work? In the list of Allowed Mimetypes for Upload there is .zip listed (although it is .Zip) and yet I can't upload a zip, even if I rename it .Zip.

Ok it's still broken. Even with the .doc that uploads it won't download correctly. I get error:

Object not found!

The requested URL was not found on this server. The link on the referring page seems to be wrong or outdated. Please inform the author of that page about the error.

Other downloads (manually added) work fine.

EDIT: Ok I figured out it's the captilisation bug creating that error... so the .doc files are uploading, but not .zip or .ace.

How can I make these files approved for upload??

Ive had a few problems uploading files as well (the uppercase filename issue too!)
and still some files refused to upload even when the mime type was enabled.
since installed Mydownloads RC2beta i have found out why...
In the admin bit of mydownloads it now displays the server's settings.
Phpupload enabled: yes
and maximum server supported upload size: 2MB

that 2mb limit is what is causing some of my uploads to fail, and NO that is not the limit you set in the mydownloads preferences, it is set on the server itself.

bit of a pain eh!

oh and even with Rc2beta i still get the upper/lowercase renaming issue so to all who want it id just wait for the RC2 final

cheers

cRuNcHiE,

Thanks mate, that is precisely the problem here. Thanks to you I have narrowed it down size only (as you say 2mb). I can now upload .zip, .Zip, .ace, .whateverthehellIwant but only if it's less than 2mb.

Now my question is, where is this setting/limit stored? I have full access to my server so there must be a way I can increase this limit?!

Hmm, I've looked through httpd.conf and can't find anything that might be limiting uploads to 2mb.

In php.ini it has an upload limit, but mine was already set to 5mb.

If anyone has any ideas I'd love to hear them :).
