My site has been running fine for over 2 weeks now yet today i wake up and login to find that the forum and XFSections wont work!?

It just comes up with Internal Server Error.

i have XOOPS 2.0.6 with IPB module as the forum.

Any ideas why this has suddenly happened? I rang the hosting company (oneandone) who proved to be completely useless! They arent even able to restore from a backup despite their terms saying 'daily backups' :(

I can't see anything wrong with the files/permissions and it seems to only affect the XFsections module and the forum / Private message bit

I am able to access the admin control panel for everything, its just those two modules that have suddenly gone weird :( possibly still a server issue and their not admitting it?

any help greatly appreciated!

XFSections : How can i stop admins from accessing certain parts?

Hi, just installed this great module! but i have one worry with it...

Id like a certain group of users to be able to edit their articles so they can upload attachments, but to do that it also gives them permission to access the file manager part of the module as well which seems very risky to me!

The module has an option to restric access to its configuration to only the webmaster, but the file manger is still freely available to any user that has admin rights on the module. Is there any way to change that? I really only want the user group to be able to edit the article and use its file attachment bit and thats it..

EDIT:

I realise now that if that user is the author of the article then they dont need admin rights on the module in order to edit/upload after editing conf.php

BUT that way means only the XOOPS editor seems to come up, not the WYSIWYG editor?

I keep getting a problem where it seems to keep wiping the permissions for everything clear so no-one can access anything!?

Webmaster is fine, even when it says its permissions are zero, but noone else can see the downloads :(

any idea on how to fix this?
It seems to wipe them as soon as i set the 'File download permissions'

It wipes the category permissions clear :(

Maybe ive gone totally blind, but where is the link to version 1.04? the link only seems to point to 1.03 for me, unless its readme hasnt been updated to say 1.04?

EDIT ok i realise now its just that the readme hasnt been updated, but i have a couple of problems.

As i test i uploaded the mydownloadspro zip file, but the url it has made for the download is like this

http://domain/uploads/1084273570-_MYDWONLOADSPRO_-mydownloads_V2.1beta.zip

and obviously doesnt work, any idea why its doing that?

the other little but is with uploading category images.

When i upload the image and goto the downloads admin section it cant find the image, it thinks the url to it is

http://domain/files/home2/iamcrunchie/modules/mydownloads/images/category/97_1_b.jpg

when it should say
http://domain/modules/mydownloads/images/category/97_1_b.jpg

The image does however show fine when you browse the downloads section.

Ive had a few problems uploading files as well (the uppercase filename issue too!)
and still some files refused to upload even when the mime type was enabled.
since installed Mydownloads RC2beta i have found out why...
In the admin bit of mydownloads it now displays the server's settings.
Phpupload enabled: yes
and maximum server supported upload size: 2MB

that 2mb limit is what is causing some of my uploads to fail, and NO that is not the limit you set in the mydownloads preferences, it is set on the server itself.

bit of a pain eh!

oh and even with Rc2beta i still get the upper/lowercase renaming issue so to all who want it id just wait for the RC2 final

cheers
