I do. If you get errors like I did in this thread https://xoops.org/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?topic_id=15425&forum=3&post_id=64379 then the templates_c folder has disappeared.

Don't know how, maybe I deleted by accident in Dreamweaver, but it disappeared. My site (http://partners.insightexec.com/) is now back and running smoothly.

Thanks to Herko and CBlue for supporting me. In the end it was this thread https://xoops.org/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?topic_id=15427&forum=21&post_id=64385 that pointed me in the direction of the templates_c folder. I then I noticed it was gone!

Hope this helps someone else in the future...

in xoops/html.
So it is xoops/html/template_c and it should be writeable.
Same hierarchy as modules, themes, kernel etc.

It's named something like xoops-2.0.5.2/html/templates_c in the XOOPS distribution. The files in the html subdirectory are copied to whatever directory you've chosen as your XOOPS web root, which need not be "html".

(The above applies to XOOPS 2. I haven't used XOOPS 1, so I don't know if they're the same in this respect.)

Yeah, basically it'll be off the root directory of your XOOPS installation (at least that's what it is for me).

So if my site is http://www.mysite.com/portal then the templates_c directory would be /portal/templates_c/ (the same directory where your main themes directory resides.
