Hi guys!

This is far from being a XOOPS problem, but this is the only place in the world I could possibly ask for help, as you'll soon see.

My problem is that all of a sudden I can't seem to access ANY other website other than xoops.com! I know this sounds incredible, and believe me I'm as confused as anybody else would be, but it's definately happening!

Whenever I attempt to access any other website, including my own, I recieve a server not found error... when I attyempt to log onto MSNM I get a "cannot find service" error... when I attempt to check my POP email via Outlook, I get a "could not find server" error...

All this would normally indicate to me that there is something wrong with my connection... either physically or in the settings... however I have reset my broadband connection manually several times, cleared all caches and even run a virus scan - I'm clean. It is very bizarre that it still lets me access XOOPS though don't you think?

Any ideas would be gratefully received... much as I love Xoops, I don't want to be trapped here forever!

It could be a DNS issue. Your ISP maybe having problems and the only DNS record cached for your IP is the last one you visited before the problem, just a thought, not saying it's the problem. Also, if you're on windowz, you can always try the old reboot trick. Seems to be Microshafts solution to everything and usually does solve the problem.

Cheers guys...

I think for the time being I'll assume it's an ISP problem, as I've just managed to access their site as well, which it wasn't letting me access before.

yes, this is all part of our plan to take over the WORLD!! Muwahahahahahaha (diabolical laughter)

I've had some DNS errors as well yesterday, maybe a defect update was spread... Have you tried to flush your DNS? (ipconfig /flushdns on windows machines, used commandline)

Maybe your computer is just smarter than mine, and filters out all but the most useful site.

If that's the case, I think I'd prefer my computer a bit more like my women: dumb, naive and easily manipulated
