I tried it shortly on two machines, and was not impressed.
A 1.2GHz machine could barely maintain a problem free voice communication to a 2.4GHz machine on the same ethernet hub (with low networking trafic). Typical telephones require 8kbyte/s of data or less transmitted, but SkyPe went way beyond 90kbytes/s, and had a worse sound quality.
Well, here when I use Skype, it generates a download and upload around 5 kb/sec, sometimes it jumps to 10, but then lowers again. (Traffic controlled by AnalogX) When Skype on and no talking it generates every minute around 1kb/sec, prolly to check the friend list.

I was also not very impressed with the GUI.
The Skype layout is simple, and works perfect. Why should you need flashie things? It only takes up CPU usage, and then people like you would complain again
And I'm suprised you even dair to complain when you have hub. Hub are stupids things and when they get incoming signal they send to ALL clients that are connected to it. Some firewalls get nuts because of this behavior. You might wanne think about a switch or router...
