Xoops for mobile

Hi!
You know mobiles are on the increase now and may be going to beat computers in the race. I just want to know what xoops has for mobiles? I have certain questions pertaining to mobile users. These should be main areas of concern for future xoops for mobiles (if these are not already considered)

How to make the existing website mobile friendly?
Any specific module which can redirect mobile users to specific URL or directory?
How to make certain data or links available for mobile browsers?
Mobile Device Based Preferences?
Mobile Browser Based Preferences?
Show only text and PDF links for mobile users? (Because scanned images might not be a good option for mobiles)

Regards,

Mamba

Re: Xoops for mobile

It seems that "responsive design" is the easiest and best way to go mobile.

XOOPS 2.6.0 has already implemented Twitter's Bootstrap technology, which will make "responsive design" seamless for XOOPS users.

Please see this article and the pictures there, showing how the design changes based on the size of the device.

I encourage you to read more articles about "responsive Design" like these:

http://www.w3resource.com/twitter-bootstrap/responsive-design.php
http://www.onextrapixel.com/2012/11/1 ... esponsive-website-design/
http://gomobile.tamu.edu/Development/Responsive_Web_Design.php

And Timgno is also working on jQuery Mobile in XOOPS

The bottom line: thanks to the hard work of our Core Team and Nicolas (ForMuss) in particular, who implemented Bootstrap in XOOPS 2.6.0, XOOPS is well positioned for the world of Mobile web. And the work of Timgno will offer extra opportunities.

Re: Xoops for mobile

Ah ha! Having done research I now know what you mean by Bootstrap! It is great to know this is already implemented in Xoops.
