If I designate the module as "Archived", it won't show up anymore in the regular category.

So let's assume that you are looking for all modules related to "Address books". You can go the category "Addresses" under "Listings"

Now, if I want to put one of the modules as "Archived", and still show them as related to "Addresses", I have to either recreate the whole repository structure under "Archived", or add "Archived" subcategory to each existing subcategory.

Otherwise I would have to browse through all "Archived" modules individually to find out if any of them could be related to "Addresses"

What would be "user-friendly" is to show all modules related to "Addresses" and show which ones are Active and not Archived.

It also would help us to classify modules in more than one category, if needed.

I'm sure the multi-category method would work (though I'm still a little unsure as to how), but wouldn't it make more sense to have something like this?

Let's say we have an entry for WF-Downloads 3.2 RC2 under

- Listings
- - Downloads

We would have moved the entry for WF-Downloads 3.2 RC1 to:

-Listings
- - Downloads
- - - Archived

along with all earlier entries for WF-Downloads. We could even add links to the earlier versions in the latest entry...

If we've got the 'Software Platform' classification (as in WF-Downloads 3.2 RC2) set to the right XOOPS version, then there'd be no need to remove an entry until the next update comes around...

Ah, are you thinking to make categories starting with the XOOPS version?

To have "Archived" subcategory for each existing category is not very practical, and would create just extra clutter

Multi-category would be much easier to manage. I hope, Ghia will make it happen

In XOOPS France they have a script to verify the links and set them invisible if they seem no longer XOOPS sites (based on generator meta and footer link). Maybe we have to run it here also once.

i think old modules shuld not be even in the main listing...i think it is right they should be put in 'old/archived etc'

maybe xoops.org can make 2 modules rep....

a. only the latest will be posted
b. old/previous version

a small text of warning/advice should be given to user
not to use old modules/old XOOPS in the repository..they should always use the latest version...UPGRADE

I totally missed that! I didn't realize that Burning's Babylon ideas were going to be brought over to x.o. Great news (as I get all my modules from there anyway).
What remains to do before we can bring it over to x.o?

1. what is the purpose of the recent post block showing in the front page near bottom page when there is a block that show the same content above it ?

maybe it can be replace with the recent comment block

2. Lol love this wox theme....

i think that the theme selection in the sidebar should be removed
..when you select the default or zeta theme...the layout of xoops.org is not nice especially in front page...you can try it..it doesnt look nice and this will give wrong impression to new user...


congrats again to eduardo and xoops.org team for having this new theme

The theme is still in development. The other themes stay as fallback. Some blocks can't yet be removed, because they will criple the other themes.

OK, we did!

Now we'll have start working on finalizing the WOX theme.
