See this.
Quote:
We are told to move them from the root of our XOOPS site, I did and the error message is still there.
it is now in home/content/html/xoops_lib
xoops site - home/content/html/xoops site
If http://www.yoursite.com/test.jpg shows /home/content/html/test.jpg then you are still in the document root. You need to place them at home/content/xoops_lib/
Your XOOPS root is at home/content/html/xoops_site
and your XOOPS URL is http://www.yoursite.com/xoops_site Check in mainfile.php the correct values of these various logical and physical paths.

zulyunus, Welcome to the XOOPS forum!

It seems something did not work out with that control panel script.
I think it is best to restore the site from a backup and do the update yourself to the latest version v2.3.3.

Re: upgrading problem

K I have now moved the xoops_lib only our of the root and all is well for that issue. When I moved the xoops_data, the site didn't see it, so I simply left it in the root and renamed it.

Re: upgrading problem

Now for my next upgrade issues: (1) I have modified my main menu, uploaded it to the server, upgrade my systems mod, it recompiled etc. My cache and template_c etc has been cleared, even my browser cache and there is no change.

I did notice that when I go to the Blocks Administration page to set up what shows where, if I click from there on edit template, when the template opens, it says I'm updating the search template instead of the system_block_main_menu.html
however, the text within the edit box shows my modifications. So I need to know what file do I pull up to correct this redirect link. I don't know if this is the problem or its something else.
If I go to the Templates Admin page and check the link and text there, all is well.

(2) Also I need to know what file do I open to correct the size of the main menu and user menu. Right now everything is all squished together. I am not using a XOOPS theme.

(3)I have the latest Frameworks and X-Forum 4.4 It won't allow me to set sticky topics option etc, and when I use "Add blocks" for the latest postings to be shown like a spotlight they do not show up. I have tried this on a fresh XOOPS site and still nadda. In the mod's blocks folder it only contains xforum_blck.php and index.html, I think this is the prob, the blocks are missing...

There is now x-forum 4.11 however all the links to download it are dead. Does anyone have the zip file for this or a solution?

I agree with Ghia. We support cPanel and Fantastico scripts, but we only recommend using them to quickly try out applications, not for real production installations.

I posted a (hopefully) exhaustive set of upgrade instructions for 2.0.x to 2.3.3. Hope those help you....

The only problem with cPanel etc is that the versions are not always up to date. It installs quickly, but a normal full install should compare in easiness and speed.
After all it is best to use the most recent version.

The links for X-Forum are here (yours seems correct).

For editing templates you must clone first the template set. Alternative is surcharging the theme with the modified templates.

For the most function rich forum, I think NewBB/CBB 3.08 is the best.

Re: upgrading problem

I'm gonna test the options you have here and see what happens for the template prob. Also I don't know if I can import from x-forum to cbb or newbb so I'll have to research that I guess.

I'll let you know what happened.

thanks
