Is there a module for this?

Hi from a raw beginner.

Have installed XOOPS successfully and am scratching my head as to which modules to install.

What I want to do is write stories on a page with a graphic on one side and text on another and have clickable links to either the next page of the story or to a page of comments or references. And some time soon I want to include an option for the reader to select different ways of navigating through the story, in effect creating their own story based on their selections.

How can I do this in XOOPS?

Any recommendations for a WYSIWYG editor?

With thanks,
Hakim

I use news 1.63 for exactely this. Having the picture in the teaser and a link to the full story.

You of course also have the oportunaty to use only a single link for this to show in your main category or in a block.

Personally I prefer koivi editor :)

Thanks culex. With news 1.63 am I able to have serial pages? Like in a book where you turn the pages by clicking on a link?

Koivi will be installed!

Where is Koivi available from? Can't find it on this site nor on sourceforge. A couple of pages of a google search did not help either.

ahhh I think I understand what it is you're looking for now.

Youre looking for a module like a book. where you turn pages 1,2,3 etc etc.

In that case news is not exactely what you're looking for, but very nice idea actually.

sorry about my "too fast" reply, but I stick with koivi still, and this you can find here
http://dev.xoops.org/modules/xfmod/project/showfiles.php?group_id=1038

I use this because this is the one I have always used but have in cases where I cannot choose this editor used the ext. dhtml editor too

Koivi is part of XOOPS. See /class/xoopseditor/koivi.
For making a book The News module can be used, but you must see yourself for the pagination (linking, TOC). I believe the Quran module used to be based on a book module.
Other modules to checkout are Magazine and WF-section.

All is clear now! Thank you guys. Yesterday I had installed a module called Articles 2.51 and it mentioned Koivi, as did Culex above. I have just gone through the admin options for everything after reading your post about Koivi being part of XOOPS and finally found it as an option in Articles setup.

I will check out the other programs you recommend. Again, thank you.
