Changing the default notification method

I am looking to change the default notification method for users when they register. Currently it is always set to send via PM do I have to mod code somewhere to change this to e-mail or is there a setting I am just over looking.

In kernel/user.php change
$this->initVar('notify_method', XOBJ_DTYPE_OTHER,1, false);
to
$this->initVar('notify_method', XOBJ_DTYPE_OTHER,2, false);

in XOOPS 2.3 you can change that in the administration of the profile module. in the 'fields' tab look for 'notify_method' and click the edit button.

yes but I want that when a person fits the system of notification is by mail

the settings should be in there to set the default value.
