I have attempted to install lifetype. All I get is a blank page, and the error message is as follows:

Fatal error: require_once() [function.require]: Failed opening required 'SMARTY_DIR/Smarty.class.php' (include_path='.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php') in /home/abarrelf/public_html/main/modules/lifetype/class/template/template.class.php on line 20
All errors (2) queries (5) blocks (0) extra (0) timers (3)

Where do I find the smarty directory?

i think SMARTY_DIR is your problem. the constance SMARTY_DIR is not defined.

Forgive the ignorance, but where should it be defined.

It is defined in /class/template.php and derives from XOOPS_ROOT_PATH. Check if the definition for XOOPS_ROOT_PATH in your mainfile.php is correct.

I got the same error, but I try:


in file /modules/lifetype/class/template/template.class.php line 20
require_once XOOPS_ROOT_PATH.'/class/smarty/Smarty.class.php';


And this work for me

Thanks that works for me too, except that the blog doesn't appear within Xoops, but rather looks like a stand alone application.

I don't think I will use this module.

similar problems here, but with the following errors
