Ok it turns to be very annoying this!

Look what happens. I upload at albums file as suggested a new file with pictures.

I go as usual press the button to upload and i have a blank page!

Then i can't even open my home page.

To solve this i have to close my browser, delete the templates_c files reopen the browser and if i try to repeat the procedure i have the same results.

In conclusion i can't upload pictures. I manage to upload two albums after many attempts :(

Is this something with the theme i use ?

look at my site

I have had some blank pages as well in the past, but I found out that it has to do with the number and size of the photo's:
when you have many pictures (I saw 75 pictures in 1 of your albums), and also of a big size, then your server gets too busy with the pictures.

I solved this by putting max. 20 pics in 1 time in an album, AND be 100% sure to wait till you have the little blue pics on the right that say "Done" or "OK".

I'm not sure if this is a problem of the module, or of my (and your) server, or that it's logical that this happens with large (amount of) pictures, but I've learned to live with it.
It's a great module apart from that!

Well, I could use a cold beer right now!!

Greetz,

[Edit] What theme do you use btw, is it a public one or a self made? [/Edit]

Hello Ronaldus.

Sorry for my delay replying to you but just now i saw your message.

I will take a look what you advice about the amount of pics at each file.

Something else is that the "most seen" (περισσότερο προβεβλημένες in Greek language) doesn't seem to work.

If you click at a picture then it doesn't change the most seen number of them :(

Btw the theme i use is one i have bought. It is not a free one.

PS: I will send the beer via P2P

I can assure it's not about the ammount of pictures uploaded at any one time as far as the module itself goes as i have upladed 100+ pics into albums several times without any problems.

Which version of xcGal are you using as i believe there was bugs in the original batch upload which have now been resolved.

As and when i get chance i will download my working xcGal module from my live site, remove my albums and zip it up so you know you are then working with correct code, hope that may be of some help to you. It does have some additional hacks also which may be of benefit for you (watermarking, page title and alt tag hacks e.t.c.)

Regards

Stuart

P.S. do i get a free beer also?

stuie200 you will hear from me in about two days.

By the way is this version the one you use at your own site?

I compare the one i use and yours. The only thing i can say is xcgal 2.03 is about 800 kb size and yours is about 4 Mb size. You must did much changes.

I don't have space problem. I just mention what i saw.

I'll give it a try and be back.

PS: just wondering if i can install it without deleting the one i use in case i prefer to use the old one.

Mine is only 467 KB

You can not run another install alongside another copy of this module so you will need to extract the files enclosed in the archive over the top of your current installation then update the module as normal in the admin section.

Let me know how you get on.

The Xcgal you advise me to download had an error_log file inside with size 2.674 kb.

i delete the contents of the error_log file and now the module is 958 kb.

I will install it maybe tomorrow and i will inform you about.

PS: You didn't answer me if this is what you run at your own site :)

Something i just mention. I install it locally at XOOPS 2.0.17 and when you go to the module via the xcgal link from the homepage it gives you Debug info message while i have disable debug at XOOPS preferences.

Is this something you add?
