Humm...

After 3 years, for sure there's a lot of stuff to improve.
It seems that some of you need urgently some eye-catch stuff
to keep your customers confident and seduce new ones...

I thought that could be professionals matter to ensure
of a solid base. Alike Garrath suggestions to fix core kernel classes; or sql requests, template admin, etc.

That send you back to 'proposal management' as this project is base on software from and to human being and there's a lack of vision due to some factories pollution.

While the core is fixed and O.O. improved you can easily rely on Xoops Hack module for such eye-cath stuff. It also keeps safe core compatibility avoiding further hacks.

Well. I just wonder if you could move on and develop under
such pressures and such noisy polluted environment!?

Finally, i hope you feel confortable selling what looks like a Ferrari but has a 2CV motor inside.

Yes, you too

As you say "suggestions".
Suggesting is easy, making is harder.
I'm fed up to see that contributions are rejected and/or neglected. But don't misunderstand the things, this is not for the core but for the modules

And you ?

Me too? Wow!... Didn't knew about that. Thanks mate.

Since you point the finger... I understand that you feel very concerned about it?

It's up to you to be honest or not with your customers.

WYSIWYG is very much needed. Everybody (read everyone with a XOOPS website that didn't put it together themselves since they don't know HTML) wants it. Something similar to what was added to 2.2 branch using the XOOPSeditor type of installation where every module can use the one(s) specified in the admin interface (they usually want to have just one).

Image management is also very much needed. The one in FCKeditor is quite usable and configurable. I provided some instructions on getting it setup and running in a previous posting to this site as well as making it available in other modules. Emulating that code might be the way to go overall.

Thumbnails would be a great thing, too. There is a thumbnail component in Joomla that works quite well. If that type of functionality could be included, then images could be automatically sized on the fly for presentation in-line with pop-ups of the others. Watermarking of the images might be a positive addition as well (like in xcGal or something similar). I don't know if that should be a part of the image manager or not.

Relative links (or XOOPS URL) in links placed using the image manager PLEEEEEEEASE!.

Absolute links mean I have to search the SQL and replace 'http://localhost' with 'http://www.example.com' every time I upload a site.

It is a total pain.
A thread is for life. Not just for Christmas.

WYSIWYG proper implemented.
Maybe a dhtml editor that 'translates' into bb code with built in security measurements so anynomous user can place comments.

Build in multilanguage.

An imagemanager / fileuploader with image resize capability.

Improvement of speed (for instance I hate that redirect thing) and implementing various 'security' hacks.
