Hello Tom and the rest on board and thanks for the replies.

1. XASSET: as I have reply (many times - also to MacNaz) that xasset is by far too much and complicated for a simple subscription module
2. Subscription module (by thirdeye): is the most promising but I never manage to make it work for me.
3. Amember: it is rather exactly what we need, BUT it is not support Greek/translations, so it useless for me (I have offered to translate it for free)

Now I know of an XOOPS developer, very talented, done some fantastic stuff with a subscription module, however I'm not sure if he is releasing that anytime soon, and therefore not really my place to elaborate further. I'm sure if he see's this he will reply. <----- Personally I'm hoping for a commercial release of this one

Now before people look at the above suggestions and say 'ohh they cost money, that's not fair' just remember this is open source, not everything is FREE source. and if your making money, don't complain about having to spend money to do so. speculate to accumulate

hi christian,

There are a few things wrong with XASSET unless your a developer:

1). McNaz Stopped his development of this module.
2). Hence the module is no longer developed by anyone.
3). Complicated to use for simple subscriptions
4). payment support lacked, only paypal for on-line and that was a charged addon which is no longer available due to the module not being developed or supported anymore.

Hi gtop00,

I'm surprised nothing has happened with your offer of support for translation, my dealings with Alex from CGI-Central (Amember) have always been good, and he normally listens and tries to cater for all.

Lets keep our fingers crossed for the ultimate XOOPS subscription module, as I mentioned before I saw this XOOPS developers module, and I really like it especially for one of the first versions.

Sorry just to add, this has always been one thing XOOPS has been weak with, we lack all kinds of commercial options, just look at some of the other popular CMS's out there, there are a multitude of options for them both free and paid for.

I do try and get other developers interested in working with XOOPS, converting their current work to be an XOOPS module, and sometimes this works, but I'm yet to get a commercial developer interested, and normally the reason they give is either:

1). 'look at the state of XOOPS, no thanks', hopefully this will be changing with the new blood being inserted into XOOPS.

2). They look at the narrow mindedness of some of the community bitching about something not being free, and of course this puts them off offering their services.

Hello,

We (Instant Zero) are finishing a module called "Adhesions".

You can create as much products as you want, give them a price, a period of availability from one to five groups where to place the user when he pays.

The module can also send automatically a message to the user, a number of days (you can change it per product) before the end of his/her membership.

Payment integrated with Paypal and may be AlloPass.

There are also some other features.

This module should be available in august, september 2007.

Hello instantzero and thanks for the reply,

Please read carefully this Topic and consider if it is possible to integrate the requirements.

A "Club Membership Administration and Membership Module" is actually what everybody is looking for.

Yes I have tried the module, never purchased the paypal plugin though, my reasons being:

- I made a few posts on those forums and didn't really get the answers I was looking for.

- Development seems slow, however there is a lot of progress with it.

- Limited options at the time of testing, for example if you want to edit the front module page, you had to dig into the html code of the module and make the changes you wanted, personally I prefer something a little more dynamic, makes it much easy to have a form you can insert your own html into, especially when you run many websites, or if you plan to use this for a clients site.

If I was going to pay for this type of thing, I would re-invest in amember personally, it has accounts, billing, stats, affiliate options and much more.

If Hervé's module was available, then this would be a whole different cattle of fish, it looks sleek, well presented, and I'm happy to wait a while for him and his team to make some releases.
