The XOOPS Documentation Team is very critical to the Project.
It was proposed in the Letter to XOOPS community as "documentation and promotion", of which the task of promotion will be more coved by "community communication team".

Tasks:
1 maintain XOOPS official documentation site docs.xoops.org
2 produce technical tutorials and articles
3 recruit more people to contribute to the Project with articles and tutorials
4 help write readme articles for modules

Rules:
1 a member being inactive (no articles or wiki edit, no technical support, no team meeting for more than one month) will be losing his/her module developer identity and his/her module(s) becomes adoptable
2 every member shall report to Team Coordinator on the First of each month
3 the team shall report to XOOPS Project Council on the First of each month

Leader candidate(s):

1. What or where is the 'official doc site?
2. What happened to docs being part of the communications team agenda?

Tasks:

- News....

- Promotion
...
- Documentation
-- Core documentation for developers - aimed at newcomers
-- Theme documentation - aimed at new designers, detail cool and innovative ways to create new themes, other theme docs will be for beginners for how to's on installing themes and making minor alterations
-- XOOPS documentation -aimed at new and experienced users for how to use the XOOPS system.
-- XOOPS Module - aimed at new and experienced users with details of how to use a module, it's features, etc.
-- Road-map - This is perhaps more a job for the devs??? but could be assisted by someone from Com's team???

Now I am really confused...

mmmm I'm not sure if someones been drinking or smoking, but this was agreed with by yourself for the Docs and news team to form as a central Communications Team.

Work went ahead, and is being done.

Perhaps you could explain what exactly is happening now, seems non of the team were formally informed, nor was this passed by the council?

please feel free to enlighten us.
Kind Regards.
Tom

Tom, surely as a member of the Council - you or James must have been consulted?

I would have thought not consulting you would be rather wrong!

Hi Jen,

I thinkhttp://docs.xoops.org the documentation was always the official sub-domain for all.

Again, i thinks team communications it will collect the excellent material bred in the last month, fortnight or week to create the notice for the users.

please, this is my thought and I do not have idea on what it will go to come equal you, the light in the tunnel not yet is clear.

Well there are no posts referring to this within the private council forums that DJ created, therefore I am left clueless like everybody else here.

Unfortunately another case with lack of communication

I'm sorry that I cannot yet advise further.

You will note this subdomain simply links back to X.org.

There is currently no official documents site as explained to me by DJ.

I believe XOOPSDocs was ran by Rowdie??? not sure

And the Wiki previously run by Ana.

However neither have gained official stature and this was something the Communications team were working on, however it seems from DJ's post there is now a split in teams, we're awaiting confirmation.
Kind Regards.

The history of this is that Rowd developed the (very nice) documentation site independently, and it was later adopted as 'official'. However, it was damaged in a server accident and has not been fully restored.

That's terrible!

I hope this is a one off case... it would be very poor if other decisions had not been discussed properly

The xoopdocs.net domain is in the process of being transferred to the XOOPS foundation.

The files of the current and previous site have been given to James.
