Here's a tip that may be helpful to some....
Favicons are the tiny icons that are displayed in the URL address bar, in your browser window. In Xoops, for example, the favicon is an image of a orange/grey X... just look up top of this page, you will see what I mean!
You can change the favicon on your XOOPS site, or any site for that matter, by using the following tool:
http://tools.dynamicdrive.com/favicon/To quickly summarize this page...all you have to do is create an image that is 16x16 pixels, and then upload it using the form on that page. The form coverts your image to an favicon image format. Then all you have to do is upload this new favicon file to the root directory of your XOOPS site. There is already a favicon file there, an X, just like the one seen at the top of this page. Overwrite this file, refresh your screen, and you should see your own favicon appear.
Note: may appear or not appear, depending on the browser you are using. In most cases it works though.
Why change your favicon? It's just another way to personalize your site, perhaps make it a bit more professional.
