I am using XOOPS 2.0.13.2 and everything seems to be going well.
I decided I wanted to change the favicon.ico and did exactly what is in the fact to do. I've done it before and it worked fine. Now it will not change.
I have deleted the standard XOOPS X favicon.ico from my server. I have mine uploaded to the same directory as the stadard X. I have cleared my template_c, updated system module, checked and rechecked the link rel in the of my theme. I have cleared my computer cache, history, cookies and tried again.
No matter what, I still get the standard XOOPS X instead of the one I uploaded. The standard X isn't even in my root anymore.

Any Ideas?

favicons can be a bugger if you've already viewed the page.

How did you clear the cache? Through the browser or by physically deleting the files? Try doing it manually, it should work then.

If it's the southquest.biz site - the XOOPS icon has been replaced here

Yes it was the southquest.biz site. Thanks. It just wasn't changing for me I guess. I did what Bluenova suggested and why, how, or howzcome it worked I don't know but it worked! Thank you both.

depends on your browser. Opera for example stores those files in its profile folder within a subdirectory called "images".
e.g. http://www.xoops.org.ico

and IE interprets favicons as the name suggests.. you may have trouble viewing it unless you have actually stored the site in your favourites list (hence the term favicon) so unless you store your site in your browsers favourites list you may not see the favicon at all.

BTW, if I may make a suggestion, it would be a good idea, security-wise, to update to a later version. I think you'll ultimately be happy you did.

You have to clear your browser's cache.

IE= got to Tools / Internet Options / Delete Files.

Mozilla= Tools / Options / Privacy / Cache / Clear Cache Now.
