Domain registrar fooled me

...I am #OOPS# pissed off on this site http://www.moniker.com ..because its happened twice now

The domain i searched for has been gobbled up in just 2 days by another registrar ( you know the ones who just register domain and put that search links page )..i am sure this site sells the search information.

Can anybody advise me how to search for domains without getting fooled like this ?

Thanks
CH

Run your domain searches through a reputable company like Yahoo or Network Solutions.

It would not surprise me in the least to find out that domain search results were being sold to domain squatters to help target their 'squats'.

Been there...done that!
No reason to be fooled again. Just come up with a list of 10 possible domains. Seach for availability. Then immediately buy the one you like best at that time.

Can't wait one day or even in some cases 1 hour or some sh&*head will steal it from you.

I tested Network Solution one day. I searched for 6 different domain "I never intended too buy". Within 3 days 4 of the 6 were gone.

I always wondered if that happened. I have never seen a domain search site that explicitly says that they don't record searches in a database.

I suppose the registries benefit from sales from any source, so sadly I can't see this being a practice that they will ever prohibit.
A thread is for life. Not just for Christmas.

I've never had that problem with one and one company, never realised others work in such a manor, it's pretty cr** really.

even if you don't buy from one and one maybe use them for your searches, their link is in my signature.
