I've used the 1.05A of WF-Downloads and yesterday I DL the Smartfactory version.

Still got a lot of problems with it. I've searched around and found my complaints have been asked before. I'm gonna leave it to the Smartfactory devs to work through it.

-------------------------

I could use a few solid recommendations from some site builders that are using a downloads module that is competent and reliable.

Thanks

which problems are you experiencing dom?

non of the issues with wfd-3.1 are show stopping, just minor irritations at worst.

altho i think we'll be releasing an update soon with the current batch of fixes included. (the ones we know about anyway)

I'm using both WF-Downloads 3.1 and PD-Downloads 1.2 on 2.0.15. There is also Herve Thousard MyDownlaods (no experience with it).

But, as m0nty asked, what problems are you having?

I use MyDownloads and I am quite happy with it. It does everything I want it to anyway.

I've taken off the WFdownloads for now.

I found that the selecting the MIME types was not working correctly for me.

When I went into the 7 page matrix I tried clicking the respective button to green and that didn't work for user. I then tried using the Edit function to add it to user and it still didn't apply the selection.

I could only get zip and txt as selection for users, regardless of what I had selected.

I did look around abit before posting. Didn't want the "search before you ask" lecture. LOL

Some of the other issues I recall had been asked on the SmartFactory boards.

Thanks for the responses - I still voted XOOPS as the best CMS.

As I recall that mod didn't allow for user submit and uploads from their computer. I do not have time resources for doing much of anything for users.

Most of my sites' users do not have the skill for linking to a server for downloads, much less have a server. LOL

No it does not allow for user submit, which is partly why I use it. Not sure then what module would be best for you then!
