I am sorry to post my question here (I am not sure whether here is the correct place to post).

When use XOOPS installation wizard to install XOOPS and reached to the stage 'Saving configuration data', I got only the first line green (file../mainfile.php overwritten by ../mainfile.dist.php), but all the rest lines red (failed writing constant /home, etc). I re-donwloaded XOOPS and tried again several times and could not fix this problem.

Who can help me please? Thank you very much.

yz: did you change the read/write/execute permissions on the mainfile.php file, so that the system can write to mainfile.php? (CHMOD on *nix machines)

Hi Herco,

Yes, I did - chmod 777 mainfile.php; chmod 777 templates_c;
chmod 777 cache; and chmod 777 uploads.

Thanks. Do you have other idea?

Which XOOPS version are you using? 2.0.14?

Also would be helpful to give some details about your server configuration - PHP version, MySQL version... etc...

My XOOPS version is not 2.0.14 but one version earlier (2.0.13.2).

The server is Linux Suse 10.1. So, PHP and MySQL version should be the latest one.

You should use 2.0.14 The installer from the previous version won't work with PHP 5.

If you need to install a previous version there's a fix posted in the forums - a search on 'failed writing constant' should find it.

Hi Good friend,

I am trying to install XOOPS 2.0.14 and when reached to the stage of 'confirm database settings', the URL just shows a blank page. I tried to search key word 'blank page' but could not find suitable answers to my problem.

Who can help me please?
Thank you very very much!
