Hi 3kai3,
I do not see any problem on your site. It is only seems that there are not any modules installed or no permissions defined.

Do you get any error messages?

You see a site? or a control panel?

I am trying and I think I built a news section..(which really is a test)

I don't see it.

This is not what XOOPS looked like when I was a end user at GaG.

Ok..your next step is to
1. get the administation manual from the documentation link on the left.
2. Go back to where i sent you to johns tutorials and look at the others he has avilable : exploting general settings; theme deployment; Module deployment (use the drop down menu)

You can also get a great beginners tutorial package from here which you could find very easy to follow.

then there is the FAQ section - look in the 'beginners first steps' and the sections on modules, admin and themes.

tar.gz files are compressed files...you need to open them up to get to the theme files: Check the terms and definitions in the FAQ, and bookmark the Xoops Glossary to assist you with understanding the terms.

Hope this helps!

Yes, I can see your site but it is empty.

Have you turned on any blocks (to be visible in the start page)?

EDIT: Please follow Jensclas' instructions

I can see only the start page, not any control panel.
I'll try to register.

Your site works fine. As a registered member I can see the News.

So,
1. go to blocks and make visible the blocks you want
2. give permissions to the groups you want

Ok!
Now:
1. go to admin-->Blocks. Find "Recent News" block, click on Yes, then Edit and choose Visible to "Start page" or "All pages" or whatever you wish

2. go to post #15 in this thread!
