My brother and I like to pronounce it "ex-zoops" (kinda like 'egg-zoops')to emphasize the "x" making it a two syllable word!!!

God I love XOOPS!!!

I've always called it ex-oops...I don't think I'll be able to break the habit.

Everybody around me tends to say it just the way you write it XOOPS - ksoops, just like xylophone, and I find it quite normal.
When I read here that you're supposed to say zoops, I just thought what the ...
I just can't find any logical reason why it is supposed to be pronunced like that. And when it stands for eXtensible Object Oriented Portal System, why is the eX tranformed into a Z?

Thanks

because that's proper english pronunciation..

Xoops = zoops

exoops is a different cms lol (based on old XOOPS 1.x core)

in this modern era every1 drops the E from ex.. it's a marketing trait known as the X-Factor (and i don't mean the TV show)

Ok sorry then... english seems wierd sometimes...
Even though I might stick to saying it with a ks, but that doesn't change anything about XOOPS being so brilliant as it is!
