I did read those threads and they dont seem to want to do what I would like to do.

Im sure that my issue would involve modifying the registration page and database to add fields, I would just like to know how to accomplish the positng of data to the database (during the initial registration) and the email sent requiring admin approval for activation.

I would like to be able to modify the form fields of the registration form to add several fields that are required prior to being approved, such as department, title, phone #, etc.

That way some of the information can be verified prior to approving the registration request.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

Try this:

1) Make a little php file with this as only content (e.g. test.php)
echo md5('password');

2) Upload the file to the webserver
3) Access the php file
4) Copy the output directly to your password field in the database
5) Login with your username and password: "password" (without quotes)

This should allow you to at least login and see, if you can figure out some more of the cause.

I tried doing exactly as you said and still wasn't allowed admin access.

any other ideas?

Thanks for the quick response, I will give it a shot. Its a shame because I have seen all the posts about the smooth upgrade.

I actually copied all my old backup files back over the site and it now works (2.0.5.1)

But i still want the latest...I'll try tip though, you are the man.

After I upgraded from 2.0.5 to 2.0.6, per the instructions, I lost my admin rights to login. The refresh screen says "Incorrect Login" Nothing was changed.

Any suggestions what to do to remedy this?

I cant access the control panel at all.

I am looking for something that pages the "recent topics" from the forums.

Much like how the "recent news" articles get paged (and a link for the subsequent pages appears at the bottom of the listings) when they exceed the max displayed amount on the front page.

does that help?

Sorry bout that, the forum module. Just like when you first go to xoops.org, it displays the latest 20 topics posted.

I want to know if there is a way to display page numbers with links at the bottom, so that viewers can view more than 20 without setting the display # to 100 on the front page.

As it is now it displays "visit forum" but it would be nice to have several pages to view before viewing the forum.

Thanks
