hi,
When I was using XOOPS 2.0.5 Image manager it used to resize the picture to proper size if it a huge picture. ( Users has to click on the small picture to see the bigger one )

Recently I migrated to XOOPS 2.0.13 and it no longer resizing the picture.

I am using the image manager in stories modules.

So content and the picure looks akward if I use bigger picture.

Can one explain me the trick to resize the picture to appropriate size.

Appreciate your help.

Regards,
Kona

Re: Image Manager resize

Have you tried a search on Makingthumbs or the words Image magik, net pbm and GD version - these are all slectable ways of creating thumbs from your pics...does your site have these?

I didnt know the image manager every resized pics at all.... You need something of an image galley to use GD or ImageMagick to resize pics.

Yes when I used XOOPS 2.0.5 it used to resize the picture I remember that.

I didn't check the code of image manager to debug.

I do have Image Magik installed.

Chris 03 could be right...and i am sorry i don't have an answer to your problem.

I use FTP for putting in images myself - but this doesn't solve issues for users.

A search has revealed a number of people having issues with the image manager and it is hoped that in the future it could become a separate module. In the mean time stay tuned as I will try and collate some of the possibles for trouble shooting on the XOOPS docs site over the next few weeks. (I am busy with work so i don't have a lot of time to devote to it just now) By using the XOOPS docs site everyone can contribute to possible answers to the issues of image manager.

In the mean time you could switch to another 'stoies' module that includes the ability to insert images and see if that works better for you. Check out the modules at smartfactory.

2.0.5 never had resize. no XOOPS image manager version did.. u might have used a hack to do it & forgot.

in particular, try this >

Thanks Monty

Have added this to a draft doc on Image manager here

I'd appreciate a coder to check it.

Jen, that code is a hack. It could be useful, if it's submitted to the sourceforge.net site as a patch it will be considered for inclusion in the core... but it doesn't belong in the XOOPS Basic Manual.

My suggestion would be to have a section of useful hacks in the wiki at dev.xoops.org, if the XOOPS Core Hacks section of the forums isn't enough...

rowdie is right about that.
But if you are going to keep it there it should have it's own heading-it should not be under troublshooting.
