Marcan,

excellent news. Hearing that from you gives me confidence. I am really looking forward to seeing this module. If you need testers, let me know by PM.

Actually, we need sponsors more than we need testers at this point.

We have funding arranged for about 2/3 of the projected development costs.

We need to come up with the balance.

So, fellow XOOPsters, now's the time to make your committment.

We'll follow up shortly with details on where to send the donations....

Hi David
Evenews has problems especially with importing users & sending mails when it deals with a lot of users (I rtied to use it with more then 5,000).
It simply is doing those actions in one process and causing "exsusted massages" .... due to script execution time limitations in the server's php.ini ....
The only workaroud I had was to import it's tables to my office local server, raise limitations in php.ini to more then 120 MB and import users into it...
and that one didn't solved the "sending problem" that stoped sending after about 2000 emails .......

So ... if you has a lot of users forget about Evenews, wait for a new mailinglist or work with an external one (search the forum for a few names ... but then ... you'll need your users to subscribe independantly or import them somehow ...

Hi tzvook,

Another problem with evennews (David just sent me a test) is a very common problem when emails contain html + images, in short, the image does not display correctly.

The code to reference the image within the email and constructing the email headers and "attachment parts" correctly, is not done the right way, at least not in evennews.

There was a large post on Sitepoint forums quite a while back about this particular issue, .. will try and find it, no promises though.
