Hi,
Could someone advise us on the following, so 12 - 13 months ago our then web hosting pty. ltd. had cPanel with a fantastico icon which then gave as a great choice of installable programs on our generous Office Package web space.

Just this week we took up 2 (two) more domains and 2 New Office Packages (the bigges space and bandwith we could find save becomeing a reseller of domain space)
"Unfortunately" post paying our dollars, on our first access to our servers back door cPanel and Fantastico we found that we no longer had the choices of CMS we had 12 - 13 months ago....

GONE WERE...... xoops, phpnuke, typo 3, and mambo.

OUR QUESTION.

From our home base can we download XOOPS and then install XOOPS on our 10 gig of web space provided. Or do we have to twist the arm of our web hosting provider to install it for us??????

More than likely at a $$$$$$$$$$ cost to us

could you advise us of a "home user - home install of XOOPS

thanks

The standard release of XOOPS is VERY easy to install yourself. Just download the 2.0.13.2 release, upload the contents of the html/ folder of the release archive to your website's root folder, and point your browser to the website address. The XOOPS installer will guide you through the installation process

Remember, if you do get stuck, the FAQ has answers to most common problems - failing that, the search will probably assist with other forum posters coming across and solving similar issues.

And if not, we're here to help.

It's strange that your host doesn't have XOOPS listed in fantastico, my host has these cms's available:

Drupal
Geeklog
Joomla
Mambo Open Source
PHP-Nuke
phpWCMS
phpWebSite
Post-Nuke
Siteframe
Typo3
Xoops

As Herko and David said, installing yourself is pretty simple, but if you do have issues, your sure to find an answer here.

Thanks bluenova,Herko and David,

Yes we were disapointed when they (our web hosting provider) no longer supplied phpnuke, xoops, typo3, and mambo to install under fantastico from cPanel. We have humbly asked why, today, in a support ticket.

coups
