Is there a module that can deal with billing cycles. I am a web host reseller, and I want to base all my site around Xoops. I want to setup XOOPS to were it is like a billing center.

No, not yet. I've heard that there may be one in development but it's far from functional.

You could use the amember script, this can manage billing cycles, selling products, and with the XOOPS plugin it would deal with memberships. but it is not part of XOOPS itself.

http://www.amember.com/

There are other better systems out there that can deal with webhost management and billing.

Also AgileBill, they also offer XOOPS subscription features in addition to billing and web host type stuff:

http://agileco.com/

Not sure how the XASSeT module would work, maybe have a look at that.

I've not been around XOOPS for a while, but I'm sure I seem to remember a module which was dedicated to webhosting, domain names, billing, etc, although when I last saw it, it seemed rather basic, I'm not sure of the name though.

Or alternatively for something totally different to xoops, try searching on a script site like http://www.hotscripts.com

You could also look on http://dev.xoops.org and see if there are any projects there in the works.

I might be able to figure something out. I don't plan on having a lot of members or anything because I only have like 7 slots left for hosting. I just wanted something that will have my site, support forums, and a store in one design. Something free aswell.

EDIT: I have PHPCoin setup, is there anyway to integrate that into Xoops?

If it's a case of only having 7 slots, then surely there is no real need for a module to handle this or any script.

You could just advertise the slots availiable, and when you get someone leasing a slot, then set the dates in your diary and Bill them when monies are owed.

After all there are only 7, it shouldn't be too complicated to bill them manually??

true, actually, I have seven left, total there will be 15-20.

Could do that, is there any invoicing module. How would I go about changing the sign up form, and make where they have to pay to signup? Like, where they will pick the hosting plan from a drop box and then when they submit the signup form with their username and pw, it will take them to the correct paypal billing page. if thats possible, seems logical.

thanks

You could use one of the advance contact us modules which allows you create many custom fields.

Then on submission you can state, that you will be in contact within X amount of time and will arrange payment, etc, etc.

Is there a real need for a customer to register on your web site?

If so they could register then you direct them to this section where they fill in a form for a hosting plan.

Just another idea of course, not sure how much help it is, lol.

You could also install calander module for use by only yourself, which will have the dates of renewal in, along with a block only you can see which will list up and comming dates, this should then remind you to E-mail an invoice out.

As a self-employed businessman, I know that invoices are easy to create, you dont need any fancy software for this.

I need the customers to sign up so that I can offer them technical support. Plus I would like to setup a newsletter or something later on. I might disable the login for now, and just have it to where they can fill out the order form, and then it will take them to the proper page.
I mainly want to use XOOPS because it is easier to create pages and manage links.

Are you sure XOOPS is for you, there are other systems out there which are dedicated more to the demands you may require.

If it is, you may not need a forum for support, maybe you use a ticket based system to assist customers on a more personal level.

Maybe something like Xhelp:

http://dev.xoops.org/modules/xfmod/project/?xhelp

This one is made by ackbarr.

You could have it so you don't force them to register, but when they buy a package, you create an account for them yourself in the XOOPS admin, then mail them the details along with the invoice.

That could all work.
