I am right there with you, while I have no firewall, if I just click on home, everything works fine. And my users can do the same thing....PLEASE HELP!

@daranp & bigzaphod, it sounds like this is not a referrer issue from what you have just said..

it sounds more like the issue mentioned previously about making sure that the URL is correct in mainfile.php

ie. make sure the www is there.. this issue can be also resolved from your servers CPanel somewhere in the dns settings i think for redirects and fwds..

http://mydomain.com and http://www.mydomain.com will be treated as 2 seperate entities if not configured right.. whilst not a flaw on both counts, 1 would need changing.. and it is easier to adjust mainfile.php and then tell every1 to use the www prefix.. the other way would be to make sure that all requests from mydomain.com are redirected to http://www.mydomain.com from within your servers CPanel.

Again, continuing from what Monty was saying in his earlier post because it is very likely what he is saying is correct I thought I would also mention about cookies, we have a problem at our place of work with Internet Explorer security settings being set to high and preventing the placement of cookies on our customers machine, maybe as a long shot you may also have this issue.

Thanks again m0nty, I have modified the mainfile.php with the www version, hoping that just using that one would cure it. But, every time I log in the url changes from the www. addres to the non www address. I have updated the system module, hoping the correct files would be updated. I remember a post I read a few days ago that mentioned something about deleting some 'temp' files thereby forcing XOOPS to rewrite them making some new changes effective....anybody remember what folder those were in?

Any other ideas....someone mentioned the dns server may be treating the www and non www differently, so, I'll probably check with godaddy since I'm not positive how to modify the dns server correctly.

WOO HOO - that seems to have done it...took a little bit of a workaround, and some help from m0onty...but, it's fixed. I will be putting together something like tutorial of what worked for me and posting it for others that may have this problem.....after a lot of work, it was really a pretty simple fix!!

Yep. adjusted mainfile.php to www. It now seems to be working fine.
