anyone else notice that any emails that appear in XOOPS has a period appended to it?

this appears in both the mailto address and on the browser.

No, my 2.2.3 site's email addresses appear normal. The only thing that I know that requires a period at the end is for the Mail Exchange (MX) records.

I just checked and both of my MX records do not have periods on the end. Perhaps modify yours and see if it helps. If on a shared server ask your host to modify.

Not sure if it is the reason, but just an observation from someone without the problem.

but would mail exchanger append periods to the end of email addresses on a website?

this is an example. this appears all over the website, wherever i insert an email address.

even if i manually insert the mailto tag into the code, a period still gets appended...

this is weird.

Hmmm... That doesn't make a lick of sense. If you manually create the mailto code, it should display exactly as you code it. There is nothing in XOOPS that would change this.

You may want to check with you're hosting provider and see if there is anything on their end that may cause this.

That is a puzzling.

i have other websites with the same host... XOOPS and non-xoops. this is the only site has this problem.

Did you find the cause of this problem?

I am running XOOPS 2.3 and have checked with my Hosting provider and still cant find out why I have this same problem. I can enter the email manualy or any other way and still get that same . at the end of them. And it doesnt matter where the email is, Profiles, Forums, Content, etc.

Guys I noticed this to but it really does not matter since when you click the email it works fine anyway. So the period is realy irrelevant.

Oh Yeah... So as soon as i can i will take a look at this but from what i have seen it looks as if this will fix my problem.
