22 000 private messages a day!!

ok i upgrade to the latest xoops..

my privtae message box is empty

when i look at my database there are 22 000 private messageages that

read

" Hello agcrawf,

A new post has been added in the F..."

how do i disable this?

my forum is auto notifying everyone!!

I don't have the answer but you should first specify what forum (and its version) you are using

Just disable notifications for newbb or w/e forum software your running.
Doesnt 2.2 let you set a PM msg limit?

It would be great if it does set a limit. I just noticed a similar problem (if you can call it that) on our database as well. The file is about 25MB when uncompressed, and I'd say about 70% of it is notifications (I think in my case it isn't just forums, its a combination of stuff from all modules).

Is there an easy way to purge notifications from the system? Will disabling them remove them from the database, or just stop them accumulating?

(still using 2.0.13.1).

probably have you suscribe for ALL new submit in the forum ?
In the preference you can disable this notification
