A good question! My hoster is currently looking through the log-files.

This hack-attack was a good motivation to get some things tidied.

Hi frankblack,

Have you found the reason? Many XOOPS site were hacked by the same guy: http://zone-h.org/en/defacements/filter/filter_defacer=hnl/

Why can they gain the admin?

No, I got no answer from my hoster. Their only advice was to update all scripts to the newest version.

Any information from your hoster?

Sorry!! I did not get the log file from my host, but my friend does, his site is hacked yesterday. I am analysing his log file right now. I will post it! Thanks for fast response!

Did any of you ever find out how they got in from your logs? It looks like the same Vietnamese group is responsible for hacking a colleague's site in Vietnam:

They are 'keeping score' here.

We'll be taking a look at his logs if we can get them, but if any of you have already done some of the legwork would appreciate it (by PM if sensitive).
