What is going on since an update, XOOPS keeps giving me this.
Taking you back, to where you were.

I just spent ages writing a reply to a comment and when i clicked post, instead of posting it took me back to the start page.

I have just lost all I have just typed and I am well stressed.

This is not the 1st time, it keeps doing it, what causes this to happen??

Is it that I have cache on, as it happens with comments, partners and other modules I have noticed?

I have a full copy of XOOPS 2.13, with hacked page titles.

What is causing this? as I now have to type all I just typed again?

If users have the same problem, they will never come back if they just wasted 20 mins, like I just have !

I installed GIJoe's heartbeat hack. I am now a happy camper.

Found it thanks, yet it isnt just that, it wont let me post short messages either.
Last night I was editing blocks and if I didn't open it as a new page, direct from blocks admin, and instead used back to double check, again it would say "taking you back to where you were".

If I edit a post in comments, unless I go to system prefrences and update, It will only allow one edit?
Before again the screen of death, taking you back to where you were!!

It is an error of some description, as the site keeps doing it and it is winding me up???

Experiencing the same problem. I'd asked about it a couple of months ago in this post. Got a reply, but it didn't work for me. I think that this is something that may need to be answered by a developer, because it's really becoming a nuisance. Right now, I have to highlight and copy whatever I'm about to post in case it doesn't go through. Resized Image

Yeh read your other post and it is really annoying, here is the Heartbeat hack

Yet this won't fix the problem, as both of us have said it isn't just time, it can happen when editing blocks as well.

Depends how you go about the task to start.

Yet for most guest, they have no idea and to see, taking you back to where you were, after posting a long comment.
If they get as stressed as I did, they will never come back to your site.

Please can someone explain why this is happening and how to fix it?

I don't think we are facing exactly the same problem. But, in my case, there was a trouble when an anonymous user try to post a comment: he gets that error message "taking you ... where you were".

This is caused by the empty $_SESSION['XOOPS_TOKEN_SESSION'] as far as I know. (please bear in mind that I'm not a coder. :-p) So I swapped class/xoopssecurity.php with the one for "XoopsCube". (XoopsCube is compatible with XOOPS 2.0.x for the time being.) And I also uploaded "class/token.php" from XoopsCube, added some lines within XoopsSecurity class.

Add the following code somewhere in class/xoopssecurity.php
function checkReferer($docheck=1)
    {

$ref xoops_getenv('HTTP_REFERER');
        if (
$docheck == 0) {
            return
true;
        }
        if (
$ref == '') {
            return
true;
//            return false;

}
        if (
strpos($refXOOPS_URL) !== ) {
            return
false;
        }
        return
true;
    }

Please remember the fact that it may create an gaping security hole for I'm not a professional. At very least, it weakens the protection against CRSF. So all the webmasters must turn on referrer when s/he manages his/her web sites.

Anyway, this hack solved MY problem, and my site became more friendly to anonymous visiters. That's all I can say.

Hey guys, or girls :)

I have the same problem:

Recently I installed XOOPS 2013 and the latest version of chess module 1.06.
Now the module is OK but when pressing preference from the chess mod , it says

“ taking you back where you were “

I have searched the forums and FAQ but there is little known about this issue merely that it is some how related to timeouts in isolated cases…. But none of the 4 or 5 comments entered in that issue is applicable to this situation

When PHP debug is on there seems no error messages coming when accessing the preference on the module so this does no help me particularly.

Does any of you guys have a clue of what might cause this or even better how it is resolved? You know, like an MySQL rights issue or something
