I use the X2t theme and i have changed some things in the theme.html - new image - and that i did the right way.

i uploaded it to the themes/x2t map and verified that it is the new file on the web location

the website doesnt show the new theme, it still shows the old one.

I have the YES option on at:
Update module template .html files from themes/your theme/templates directory in the preferences section of the admin section.
still doesnt show the new theme.html

i totally erased the templates_c files
no result

i deleted the theme and reinstalled the theme making sure it only contains the new theme.html..
no result, still showing the old theme.html

nothing works it still is showing the old theme file
what am i doing wrong?
where is it stored and what do i have to change to get rid of the old theme.html to show the new theme.html??

Sorry for my english
Ive searched all trough the forum but can not find an answer.
please help!?!?

You might want to try looking at it from a different browser, or clean out the cache of the one you're using. I have the same problems with Firefox occasionally. It caches my theme, and changes don't show up in it.

keep refreshing the page and clearing templates_c and cache folders.. eventually it should work..

are you going thru a webcache proxy on your browser? sometimes ISP's use them and change your settings to use it instead of direct when you install using their installation CD. if so, then temporarily disable the proxy and go direct.

Are you sure you uploaded to a right server ? This can be messed up many times if you have more servers.

Yes i am.
the right server!

this is realy beyond me.

is there a way to fill the templates_c map again? its now empty - exept for the index page, and now the site shows as a white page, and no new files are made in this directory templates_c

its getting the better of me :(

he site fails to work and shows a blank page when u clear templates_c, then there definitely is another underlying problem somewhere which needs to be fixed.. so it may not be a theme issue at all..

i would suggest reading the FAQ section that deals with blank pages and troubleshooting.. i don't have time to help anymore at mo as i'm off out in 10 mins for a birthday celebration and i suspect i'll be in no fit state to walk let alone type when i get back.. lol

I have the same problem...... I tryed with different themes, setteing and all that!!! But no, nothing happens, the theme that are currently active dosent seem to let go.

So it has to be somting with xoops, but what?

Can someone please help.

Ps: Same thing with language files, it took some time to get it updated, and sometimes when you switch betwean swedish and english, it is half swedish and half english.
(just like my writing ;)

I just learned that you have to go in to the block menu and make theme vissable, then chose the theme from your hompage, go back to block admin and hide it again, and you are god to go!

Sorry for my english.....

Somethimes you can feel so stupid....

Chmod on the templates_c map was set wrong.

after correction i can erase the templates_c map
the new theme file is showing afterwards.
I do have the "yes"option on in the preferences in the admin menu but the changes dont show on themselfs. ( no browser cashing problems).

It doesnt explain why i need to clear the templates_c map after i have made change but at least it works.

Thnx all for the time you took on this problem.
