Originally they said NO as it was commercial... however since then they have done work on commercial forums - so who knows?

I came here this morning to find the answer to the same question. I really like XOOPS and want to start using it but there must be a vbulletin module before I will.

I hope that someone will come up with something.

Don't you have to pay like $85.00 USD a year for a Vbulletin Leased License?

Yes there is a license fee which I don't mind paying. IMHO its the best and most supported forum software out there.

You won't find any developers here to take you up on that. We don't want to get xoops.org shut down now do we? Vbulletin is not public code, it's copyrighted and not quite legal to do what you are suggesting.

Not that I care what you do, but in case you were not aware.

tpr77,

You may want to check with bbpixel if you have not yet. While it's not a technical problem, it may be a legal one.

there is nothing illegal about porting vbulletin forums. you only distribute the instructions to implement the hack/port and not the vbulleting code. then only licensed users of vbulleting can use it.

you just need to do it the right way. otherwise sites like the vbulletin hacking community wouldn't exist. and jellsoft hosts that site also.
