Hi I am new to the XOOPS world, and am thinking of setting up a cms for my local town. I would like to know if XOOPS can do the following,

- News updated by administrators
- Alphabetical lists e.g Dentists/Doctors/ and local shops, which link to further details?
-Feedback letters
-Simple contact form
- Forum

Thanks talunceford. I am looking forward to getting started, I am not a complete novice so should be ok, ish'.

Has anyone got any examples of community sites already created with xoops. Or just a demo of some of the features it has to offer, I cant find a demo site anywhere, the only one I can find needs a password..

My suggestions for modules would be:
1. News 1.3
2. xdirectory
3. liaise
4. liaise
5. newbb2

There are plenty more you could try, I'm just giving you a place to start

edit: look in the XOOPS Links section of this site to see examples of XOOPS sites.

one more question how do I display news on my main page including the intro text, instead of just the title.

can imagine this q has been asked loads of times...
