I'm using an older version of xoops, and I would like to install the auto login feature. I downloaded the zip of gijoe's auto login hack for 2.0.7.1 hoping that it would work seeing as how I didn't find one for 2.0.7.3 (which is the version that I am running) and the newest auto login hack only works for version 2.0.9.x.

Here's where I run into a problem:

Taken from the readme file in gijoe's auto login hack:
Quote:

But you have to set the cookie time in admin/preferences/general settings to the number of minutes the cookie will be stored, i.e. "10080" minutes for one week.

Problem is, I go to admin/preferences/general settings... and I don't see a spot to change how long the cookie will be stored. I have already replaced the files and updated the systems module.

Can someone tell me:

A: What I'm doing wrong...
B: How to enable auto login manually
C: where to get a hack for 2.0.7.3

If anyone could help me out it would be much appreciated.

Thanks

You can download the auto-login hack for XOOPS 2.0.7.3 at the Dutch XOOPS Support:

I have installed that hack, and it works, but there is no place for me to change how long it keeps user information. Anybody know where I can change this?

I was thinking it was in this section of user.php:

Quote:

if ($op == 'logout') {
$message = '';
$HTTP_SESSION_VARS = array();
session_destroy();
if ($xoopsConfig['use_mysession'] && $xoopsConfig['session_name'] != '') {
setcookie($xoopsConfig['session_name'], '', time()- 3600, '/', '', 0);
}
// clear autologin cookies
setcookie('autologin_uname', '', time() - 3600, '/', '', 0);
setcookie('autologin_pass', '', time() - 3600, '/', '', 0);
// clear entry from online users table
if (is_object($xoopsUser)) {
$online_handler =& xoops_gethandler('online');
$online_handler->destroy($xoopsUser->getVar('uid'));
}
$message = _US_LOGGEDOUT.'
'._US_THANKYOUFORVISIT;
redirect_header('index.php', 1, $message);
exit();
}

Can anyone confirm this or tell me where to change this? I was thinking I could just change the "3600" to a larger number. I have no php skills.. probably waaaay off.

it uses the "Session expiration" preference in System -> Preferences -> General Settings to control how long the cookie lasts.
