I am looking for a CMS (with or without addons) which includes a product catalog.
I'm just talking about a basic catalog here, not a shop.

Basically, an image and a variable number of (searchable) fields per product.

Does XOOPS offer this or should I look into other CMS solutions?

Bump....

Anybody know of something similar. Been looking to move our company site to XOOPS but got to have something like a catalog listing that is searchable. Found a newly posted project on the mod dev site, hope its what we are looking for.

Thanks

I have been looking around a lot and the only things that came up were:

- Noah, which is a module to build modules (a bit complicated for the beginner) It includes kstore, but I haven't been able to launch it.

- Smallstore, which is not a complete module, where according to the manual you have to build your catalog pages in an HTML application.

- Realty, which is a real estate module, but I could not find the admin page to modify it.

So, the conclusion is that there is nothing ready for XOOPS yet.

I have been looking at whether there is any classifieds module that could be modified, but there is no stable classifieds module ready at the moment.

Perhaps the "discography" module could be easily hacked.

If it is modified a bit, it could look like a catalog

So, looking forward to some further developments in this area

Here is an better idea for you guys.
Since you only want it to be a catalog only.
which most likely to involve Pictures and Description and Price.

why not just use the photo album module or other photo module? Can just hack it through changing the text from photos to products. and change the delete un-necessary stuff off the templates. Mod you own templates.

Any photo album module would be best for modding into a catalog module since it supports thumbnail, description and uploading feature.

Simple Mod and Voila~ you got yourself a product catalogue module.
