I have it installed and working Great. But my question is, does anyone know where I can find US Weather city codes? so I can add to the current lists which came with module. It doesn't use zip codes. I have tried googling but so far only find sites that offer zip codes to determine weather. Thank you.

I suppose msweather is using yahoo services
so now go to yahoo weather US listings
http://weather.yahoo.com/regional/USXX.html
take for example, New York,
Click on new York,
select a city, take for example Atlanta
and you will have a page on the weather info.
take a look on the URL of that particular page

http://weather.yahoo.com/forecast/USNY0063.html

now you see USNY60063 at the end of it?
I think that should be the weather code for Atlanta

I don't know and just assuming this should be the solution for you.
I don't live in the US. Hope it helps

I'm only guessing here but perhaps the README file or the site that is feeding the weather will give you a quick answer? Might be even faster than a google search....

Hello everybody,

I wouldn't recommend to use msweather on a live website (on an intranet one...perhaps!?) because when I released it I didn't noticed that the way it recovered the weather info was ILLEGAL.

So, do what you want but use it at your own risk.

Kind Regards

Hi sylvainb,

Thank you, for the heads up and for developing this nifty module. Are you going to add the ability to show extended weekly forcast too?

Regards,

Download the SnX-Weather module.

In the admin section there is a list box that is a little easier to use than the MS-Weather one.

Now go to Weather.com and find the country you want.

Highlight the towns/cities you want and do a copy.

If you have excel paste into Excel, works best if you're using Excel 2003.

This will create seperate cells for each location.

Now edit the hyperlink and copy the city code then paste into the cell beside the name.

When you're done export as a comma-separated file then open that file in a text editor.

You should see the city then a comma then the city code.

Select all and then go to the admin page for SnX-Weather and paste into the box.

Works sweet on my site: rider.net.nz
