I have just installed this module. My question is I need to change the default setting for the text area so I can put in more content. Where does one go to change this in the module? Thanks!

Thanks! Gecko, I just installed PHPList and already like the features provided. No, wonder it has already been downloaded 40,000 times according to hotscripts.com! Your right it would be a great module to add to xoops.

Can anyone suggest a good one? The features on the top of my lists would be a built in wysiwyg editor for creating html letters, ability to see what e-mail got bounced or opened, database driven, etc. The more the features the merrier.

Thanks!

To update this thread I'd thought I'd posed my experience following suggestions posted here.

Murhphy's law did strike last Sunday. My hard drive failed! Luckily I have all XOOPS files backup including the database so I was able to recover all of the site from the latest backup.

I was able to successfully used my exported MySQL database using phpmyadmin. Database exported using Webmin's MySQL module did not work. After uploading my backup XOOPS files I had to chmod 777 cache, template_c, uploads to work correctly.

Which files do I need to tweak to accomplish this task? I tried a hack submitted by a fellow xooper (tsanyao) but that didn't work for me.

I'm using the latest squirrelmail on a Fedora 2 box. Running the latest
Xoops stable released. Since I'm new to PHP I have been struggling how
to go about accomplishing this. Can I just create a new session using
values entered at login to XOOPS to be used by sqmail? Thank you.

Hi Bahatee,

Thanks, for responding the problem I have I am using the theme
Dana Red, the shoutbox background is of the color dark grey which
is the theme back ground. I'd like to change the color back ground
of the shoutbox so I can better see messages posted.

At the moment all messages appear as dark blue which sort of blends
into the dark grey background.

Hello,

I'm about to let loose user's at the office to use Xoops.
To recover from user error's I have done the following to
backup my Xoop site.

1. Exported the whole XOOPS database using phpmyadmin
2. Create a cron job to weekly backup the root dir.
3. Downloaded the whole site using Dreamweaver to a
local file onto my laptop.

Have I missed anything? Preventing me from recovering
in the event my Xoop site suffers a disaster.

Thank you!

Hello Xoopers,

Where does one go to to edit files within the shoutbox module?
Which files do I edit? I am using Dreamweaver. I'd like to change
color messages and background. Thank you!

Whenever you add a new module it automatically adds a link
under the main menu block. My question is, I am using a theme
which comes with menu links under the banner heading such as
forum. Where do you edit so that if I installed the forum module
I do not want it also to appear under the main menu block.

Thank you!
