There is nothing wrong with a bit of praise - some people are slow to thank, and quick to complain.

It's just occurred to me. Davidl2 is a Foundation member, so we do actually have a foundation point of view on the team. Good.

Update: I've just sent the team members a draft agenda and proposed procedural matters for consideration. So hopefully we can get started on the discussions within a couple of days, after people have had a chance to look things over.

One of the things on the agenda is a mechanism to keep the community informed and allow community input. Will post more on this after the team has provided feedback.

MadFish, and SailJapan

I haven't received the draft adjenda documents yet.
Will you consider posting it here? on a separate form, private, but publically viewable, if you wish with a PM member made up for persons interested in responding to be able to pm their response direct to the committee.

Example new member "PROPOSAL" ... that is where persons could resond to and we, the committee, could consider those responses and post our findings? (accumlated from the responses)

Thus keeping it free and open to recieve comments but under control from extranous "chatter" or subject 'hijacking'

of course, all committee members would have the password to view and respond to the pm's 'PROPOSAL' received.
Then we could work on our own time schedule, by viewing the comments and taking full advantage of XOOPS pm-ing abilitys.

Thank you in advance for considering this option.
To both MadFish and SailJapan and
proposal submitter phppp (council representative)
and the foundation representative, Davidl2.

REPLY ADDON:
@phppp, since this is your proposal thread, would you please be the one to set up this new member 'proposal' for our combined use?

Giving the password to both SailJapan and MadFish as the representatives of the communities interest in this matter and allow them to pass these passwords to the rest of the committee charged with the duty of bringing these proposals together.

Thank you in advance.

Since MadFish is now "leading" (hope no arguments on the word) the preparation committee, I think he should be allowed to make such decisions.

For place for "proposal", I personally prefer to googledocs.

Re: Proposal: Towards A Sustainable Open Source Project

Thank you phppp,
I will be awaiting MadFish's decision.

I appreciate your giving the matter some consideration also.

May I ask why Googledocs is preferable for you over XOOPS Pm's.

I personally prefer XOOPS.

@MadFish,
I am asking for a 'copy' of the proposal to be placed here for those of us who do not use googledocs (for any reason) so we can also particular in the process.

Thank you,
Darcy

Darcy,

Googledocs is real easy to use, has revision history, spreadsheet, word processor and can be easily published for public viewing.

All you need to do to participate is go to http://www.gmail.com, create an account and you're good to go....Provided that's the path it all goes down. I happen to like the idea as well but we'll need to get consensus on this as well, phew!

I think we all prefer to use XOOPS.

I'll take a look at Google docs tonight, I'm not familiar with that. I note that a lot of work has been done on a wiki already. So long as reference material is readily accessible it doesn't matter too much where it is.

However, I think it's important that actual comments by the community be gathered through xoops.org, as this is where everyone is (virtually speaking).
