Site Backup Module

Hi all!

I thought I would let everyone know that I just hacked a script that will allow the web admin to backup his/her site to a tar.gz file, then download it. Some things that you might need to know about this module, is that the directory where you install this module, the sitebackup folder, needs to be chmodded 777.

Get it here. You have to register to download.

Apart frm this module a question.
I see your XOOPS admin interface is quit different (nicer and cleaner) than the standard xoops.
Is this a hack or........? and if so,.....where can I find it because it looks as if this one works much faster with a good overview.

Never mind, found it

Thanks in advance,

This is cool.
This would be more awesome if it also grabbed all tables associated with the XOOPS prefix and pulled the database and included it in the tar as well. or does it do this too?

Good job,

Yeah that would be cool. That might be something that I could look into.

Hi talunceford,

This is really a module, i have been looking for...

There are a few problems though:
Make sure you change the path to PEAR in backup.php

I could not find any line to specify the path.
I looked into my info.php and it states that pear is:
include_path    .:/usr/share/pear

The module does not seem to have a module icon.

The module does not show up in my admin, although in the xoopsversion.php it says: $modversion['hasAdmin'] = 1;
I run it from it from the modules admin page, but I get an error:

Fatal errorCall to a member function on a non-object in
/var/www/site.com/html/backup/modules/sitebackup
/admin_header.php on line 7

Looking forward to your response

Yeah, I never said it was perfect yet lol!! But, as far as the admin thing goes, it sounds like a permissions error. Make sure that its chmodded to 777.

Hi talunceford,

I just found a neat little MySQL backup script

http://www.absoft-my.com/pondok/backup.php

Perhaps this one could be integrated? It has a nice and simple interface...
