Please help! Error message after Installation. "unable to write to $cache_dir"

This page cannot be displayed due to an internal error.

You can provide the following information to the administrators of this site to help them solve the problem:

Error: Smarty error: unable to write to $cache_dir '/home/xxxxxx/htdocs/php/xoops_data/caches/smarty_cache'. Be sure $cache_dir is writable by the web server user.

Does anyone know why it said "unable to write to $cache_dir" ?
The files is writable in the web server.

Yes! hey guys, I found the right answer! [size=x-large]Simply because I never deleted the current existing index.html file right at my ftp server[/size]. Now I can proceed to the installantion part. Thanks man. thanks to everyone. Whoo hoo~

yeah, is strange. Do you know why ?
But I haven't give up the installation part right now.
Even though I try to upload the whole thing in version 2.3.2 and it happen the same problems. checksum say:content invalid
Always stuck at the installation part: [size=x-large]No XOOPS installation could be found in the specified folder[/size]

./class/mail/phpmailer/codeworxtech.html content invalid
./class/mail/phpmailer/language/phpmailer.lang-fo.php content invalid
./class/xoopseditor/fckeditor/fckeditor/editor/fckeditor.original.html content invalid

if you have these 3 files(version 2.3.3) please sent to me at admin@williamstudio.com

I still dont understand why it say content invalid at checksum
Does anyone know what is the problems ?

now I miss the files below. Try several times to reupload or delete files first before upload and the files still missing. Please help !!

when I uploaded the checksum.php and checksum.md5
it show me the results as below :

The problems is still there. I can't proceed to installation page.
error msg:"No XOOPS installation could be found in the specified folder."
