I have two existing blogs, one at blogger.com and one that I am working on at goDaddy that will be replacing my blogger.com account. I am wanting to link the blogs I post on either one of those accounts into my XOOPS site, so that they show up on the homepage, and add a 'Blog' button to my navigation menu that I can link to my blog. I'm assuming I would need to write my own module, but PHP is not my strong point, I was hoping someone could point out an existing module, or help point me in the right direction for creating my own.

Thanks a ton for any help you can offer!

Edit: I tried XOOPS Planet, but it would never show up in the modules section so I could install it. I don't know what was wrong with it. I'm assuming it's something with GoDaddy's installation of XOOPS as I have had issues getting a couple other modules working as well. I never had this problem on my other hosting service.

Changing the newBB 2.0 text in my block

When I installed the newBB forums it is displayed as newBB 2.0 in my block. How can I change the text of that to Forums?

I changed the text in the xoops_version.php file and then updated the module but it still showd the text NewBB 2.0 in my left block.

EDIT:
I found it, I just wasn't paying attention I guess. Changed it under the Admin\Modules Administrative option.

I posted a reply on sunday night on this topic but somehow it's missing. I don't know what happened.

Anyway, I did as you suggested and it still didn't fix the problem. What I wound up doing was placing XOOPS on a different host server and then I will just have my index page re-direct the users from tbgengine-suite.sourceforge.net to the new host server. I get the feeling XOOPS just isn't compatible with sourceforge.

It works great on the new host so I just need to start configuring it now.

Thanks alot for the help! To bad we couldn't get it running on sourceforge. It's nice to know that XOOPS has a great community that is willing to help out.

I also just noticed that my XOOPS appears to be running V1.8, so maybe if I installed the 2.0.16 it would fix this problem? If you recommend that do I just copy all the files over the existing ones and modify mainfile.php again?

Thanks for the reply, I just did what you said and set the templates_c directory to 777, but I am still recieving all of those errors. The templates_c directory is empty, and I turned off debug to check if the page will load and it is still a blank page. I noticed that if I placed the files back into the templates_c directory that I removed the errors are reduced to very few.

Yes, I checked the tbgengine-suite.sourceforge.net/tbg/admin.php page right after getting the blank page and found that it seemed to be working, I also cleared the cache and the template_c directories off the server.

The problem might be in the permissions, I am assuming that I have set all the permissions correctly. What do they need to be set as, and what program can I use to varify the settings? I am using WINSCP3 to upload the files to the sourceforge server, but I've seen people talk about changing values from CHMOD 444 to CHMOD 777 or something like that. I looked but can't find how to do that in WINSCP3. I also have PUTTY but have never used it and I don't know what commands to use to change the CHMOD and the rw access.

Yes I can see the light! Thanks for the help, I renamed my database like you said (didn't realize that would be an issue) and modified my mainfile.php to reflect the changes. Now the site actually loads (I think), I don't get any errors but the webpage is blank.

Is this something else that I have done wrong?
