Content Module after site Transfer

Hey everyone. I recently developed a site on my server and then my client had given me their server information to transfer everything over to, which it all worked but the Content Module.

Currently I'm only using it for one page but it is the ABOUT US page and that is needed as they may update it frequently so I can't make a static page.

Currently, the module installs, I can access the Module's preferences and the "order site menu block" options but when I click to add content, edit content or pagewrap, it just reloads the selection page where those options are available.

Also, if I go to the page that I had already created, it fails to load and on Firefox, takes me to the "Redirect Loop" error page.

This is really the only thing stopping my project from being done (other than minor CSS tweaks) and I need to have it done by Friday. So anyone that can shed some light on this problem, maybe something I didn't do when transferring over or something?

Thanks

Okay, I think I've gotten everything work. I never knew about the spotlight thing (the one built into the NEWS module).

I'd love to use the block so I can have more room to move things around but inside the spotlight I can't get the comments to show along with the full story. Does anyone know of a quick/easy edit for this?

Also, when I edit the themes for the blocks, save the html file and then upload it, nothing changes. I had this problem before with them and its been a year so I can't remember how I fixed it.

I did the following: Changed the update theme tab in the settings. Updated the module and also logged out, removed cache and signed back in and the theme still holds the old theme look.

Thanks everyone. This worked. I didn't remember doing this on my previous sites but its been a little while.

I've been tired lately too so that factored in I'm sure.

Thanks.

The only blocks I have on the main page are the standard system blocks (menus etc) and then I have the search bar, archive and latest news on the right.

I've tried the "Main News" but it only shows the topics etc.

Hey everyone. I've used XOOPS to set up a few pages now with News for the front page and they've all worked well until now.

Currently, I have a 2.0.18 version of XOOPS running on my server and News 1.56 installed. I've set it up to have the "main news" appear on the front page, the only problem is that no matter what I do it won't appear. (Yes, I've clicked the bubble for show on main page)

I haven't touch the templates yet (just switched between the two defaults) so it SHOULD just show the main news right on the front page like it always has before but it isn't doing that.

midday.brandon-jackson.com

That's the site but I don't know that it'll help. I'm just wondering if there's a known issue with any of the versions or if someone else has run into this problem and it was because of a simple error?

I'm doing it for a job/school project (the final one before I graduate) and would appreciate the help soon if I can get it as classes end this week.

Thanks in advance.

Even after follwoing the FAQ, Can't Change Theme look...

I have a site I'm using for our work and we needed minor changes to them different theme .html files in my custom theme. I had an image manually placed into the theme (for looks) and then had to remove it since we got rid of the file. So in Firefox, it's gone, but in IE it still has the red x. That's just the way the browsers read it.

I also read the FAQ about this. I don't have that first step's option.

Only thing I have is "Check Templates for Modifications?" I figured this to be what I need and have it clicked to yes.

I went through and followed the steps, even deleted the .html theme files I tried to update and left them off the server, but when I refresh, they are STILL there!

It'd be nice to be able to make these minor changes as I have a few more I'd like to make once I get this figured out.

Any help?

Well, does anyone at least know the answer to my order of blocks question?

I didn't think anything of this when I tried installing it a few weeks ago as a stand-alone and it did this same thing. However, every other kind of posting thing like XOOPS have installed and yet when I tried to get the IPB mod installed, it gave me the issue of not Proceeding when given the options in install.

Link Here!

All of my files are there and if you click the link above and try to proceed, you'll see it just reloads the page. It did this with stand-alone version of IPB and I don't know why. I have CHMODs turned on correctly but still this.

Can someone shed some light on this for me as I'm putting a site together for work and this is the final piece of the puzzle to put in before it's ready to go live (and be uploaded to their server instead of my own).

Edit: Also a small question, maybe I'm stupid here but I want to rearrange the order of the blocks I have on the left side of my site. Any way to do that easily? I have a custom block (some custom links) I want on top, then the User and Search under that.

Bender, thanks for the help. I think where it says "Block Access Rights" I thought it meant it would BLOCK those if selected. So it should work now. I just had to re-check it.

Also, I love your avatar :)

Sorry for the long reply but I was away for Thanksgiving Holiday.

Thanks Again!

I've noticed that any of the modules aren't on the block list when it comes to unregistered users. I'm trying to use XOOPS so I can manage a website (with a group of other users) to run a game. Only the few of us need to have user logins so we can manage the page content, however it seems that unregistered users can't view important blocks (such as recent news) because I can't turn the viewing "on" for unregistered users, only registered ones.

This works fine if I'm logged in, but as I stated, most of my users won't be logged in since they'll only need the site for reference.

How can I at least get my recent news to be viewed by unregistered users?

http://tow.bigdaddykraven.com is my site. To the right of the news, there should be a recent news thing, but since you won't be registered, you'll not see it.

Any help?
