Ok, I have most of them, but I can't find XM Spotlight. Is there some way I can customise the front page compleatly? Also how do I start to go about modding the site outline and templates?

oh right, I had set the permission for approve, but I had not set the permission for submit news. Now it is fixed

I am having trouble running News 1.44. When I try to post news I get this error::

Sorry but either there are no topics or you don't have the rights to post in any topic. If you ar the webmaster, go in the permissions and set the 'Submit' permissions.

If the page does not automatically reload, please click here

But as far as I can tell I have checked these problems and they are ok, but I am prob wrong and missing something as I am new to xoops.

I am setting up a website for a freind of mine for a horticultural soc. I need a news page, an images page and a forum. I like the setup of the XOOPS.org site, and was hoping to do something similer. I have been looking at news modules, but none really do what I need, what I want is a news module that shows the last ten news items on the main page, a decent forum that also displays the latest items on the main page, and an upcomming events module. If anyone can help me in getting this setup, I would really apperecite it.

I am totally green and I need some help getting going with this thing. I have compleated the install and I havce modules on the go, but I want to go on to the next step. It is important that I allow all people see certian elements of my site (news, links, etc) but I don't know how to go about this. Could someone point me to somewhere that I can look at. What I need is to create a site like this one (the XOOPS site) where it won't matter whether they are logged in or not.
