News 1.44 problems

I am having trouble running News 1.44. When I try to post news I get this error::

Sorry but either there are no topics or you don't have the rights to post in any topic. If you ar the webmaster, go in the permissions and set the 'Submit' permissions.

If the page does not automatically reload, please click here

But as far as I can tell I have checked these problems and they are ok, but I am prob wrong and missing something as I am new to xoops.

You first have to create a topic and then set that topics permission for each group.

I find the word topic a bit confusing sometimes.
In this contaxt the word 'category' is better I think (it helped me, I had the same problem).
So you have to make a new category, set permissions, and then you can post an article in it.

The news module does not have categories.

I know, but in Dutch the word category is similar to the use of 'topic' in News.

oh right, I had set the permission for approve, but I had not set the permission for submit news. Now it is fixed
