(Theme creation) Which Software for beginners?

im a beginner and i want to make my own theme for my website! could anyone recomend me a quik and easy software to build my own XOOPS theme????!!!!

ps. please dont say to look through the forums and FAQs, because im really busy!!!

When i download a template it is a proper folder.
I want to know how to convert it into a tar.gz format file

Please help me....im new!!
