Many thanks for the help - changing the '100' that was in the field to 0 has made all the difference!

Newbb hidden posts?

I have some old topics and posts on my forum that cannot be seen in the forums, unless you use the pull down menu to select 'View all posts'. They are counted in the number of topics/posts. A forum that claims to contain 11 topics, but only 1 is visible seems to be a bit strange.

I'm running
XOOPS version: 2.2.3a
CBB version: 2.2

I don't have the prune function in operation, and am scratching my head a bit!

Is anyone able to shine a light on this?

Thank you!

I've entered the font color tag as you suggested, via the XOOPS admin.

<div class="comUserName"><font color="#000000"><{$topic_post.poster.link}></font></div>

The change didn't appear to have worked in the forum.

So I emptied the templates_c folder.

I uploaded the altered html file to overwrite the default template set (but I'm not working off this template set...any clone sets are kept on the server - if I've got this right)

I have refreshed, closed it all down, recleared the tempate_c file whilst all is closed, reloaded. No change. They are still following my theme's style.css (but I thought inline coding takes precidence over style.css)

Any ideas?

I am also trying to tweak newbb_thread.html

This time the set up is: CBB 2.2 file, in XOOPS 2.2.4

The problem I'm trying to overcome is that when veiwing the forum, the link to the poster's profile is in red, like all the other links on the site. The link in this situation however is on a blue heading background. Big no no for contrasting colours - it is so hard to read.

So I've played with creating a white class within my theme.css. But the coding for the links in the forum headings don't look like links that I know about:

<div class="comUserName"><{$topic_post.poster.link}></div>

Is there anyway I can change just these forum heading links to, say, white? I am I missing a trick in the theme.css? Or am I just not getting the code right for this line?

Any help would be great!

I've now got a fully working XOOPS from the same download as was giving me problems - so must have been an upload issue.

The one time I did upload the files, and then uploaded them again just to make sure, I did notice that some files were being uploaded for the first time - so something had gone wrong somewhere, and this led to the error messages.

All working fine now. Thanks for the help though.

:o)

Error messages at top of installation screen

I have uploaded version 2.2.3a and when I go to my website I get the installation screen. Great.

But at the top there is a line of text:

("_INSTALL_L49", "Module Installation"); define("_INSTALL_L129", "Modules"); define("_INSTALL_L165", "%s Created Successfully"); define("_INSTALL_L166", "%s Could not be created"); ?>

I've tried going through the installation, further errors appear:

("_INSTALL_L49", "Module Installation"); define("_INSTALL_L129", "Modules"); define("_INSTALL_L165", "%s Created Successfully"); define("_INSTALL_L166", "%s Could not be created"); ?>database = new $class(); } return $database; } } ?>cated */ class Database { function &getInstance() { return XoopsDatabaseFactory::getDatabaseConnection(); } } ?> } } ?>

I then install the System module ok, but it won't install either of the pm or profile modules, saying:

Unable to install pm. Error(s):
`) ) TYPE=MyISAM; is not a valid SQL!

Unable to install profile. Error(s):
TYPE=MyISAM is not a valid SQL!

I've wiped the whole system (xoops and database) and started again (it's a new website, so no content)

I still get these error messages, and many more if you go through to look at the site! What am I doing wrong?!

eXTCal: Adding an event

I am running eXtCal for XOOPS 2.2x and I cannot see a way of allowing users to add events.

I have all their permissions set to allow this, but there is a lack of button/block/interface for them to do so.

As the webmaster I can only post events by using the admin panel. This doesn't feel right. Am I missing something here?

You can add a user as in previous versions by installing the 'extended profiles' module. Mine came in with the full version of 2.2.3. I'm guessing it will be with the upgrade too.

If you install it, then in the admin menu:
Modules->Extended Profiles->Users

Bingo, job's a good 'un.

I've created a couple of forms using Formulaire, but am having difficulty in doing anything useful with the .csv file it exports. I'd like to open up the data in a spreadsheet or database, with one line per submitted form, and answers to each question in separate columns.

Any ideas?.... or am I just being an idiot?
