Hi,
I am trying to locate documentation or a howto regarding text entry in text areas within xoops. I am trying to enter text with symbols (code snippets) and these symbols (such as "<") are getting interperted or something like that becuase my text doesn't show up often times after one of these "special" characters. I have been looking around for a howto on this, but have not found any guidance.

Your help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

After much painful searching on this one, I think I figured it out. We had turned on SE Linux and it was enabled on our Fedora C4 install. Once I turned it off, I was able to see some of the rss feeds.

xoops 2.013
php 5
mysql 4.1.11
Fedora C4
xhld (tried various versions 2.99, 3+, etc.)

Hi group. I would appreciate some help here.
We are having trouble with xhld.

We receive the snoopy status = connection failed (16) error message when setting up feeds.

Our XOOPS server is behind a firewall, however, we have another, similar setup behind a firewall and it is successfully pulling feeds.

I suspect it has something to do with network setup or server hostname settings.

Cany anyone confirm this or provide assistance?

Thanks!
Mattr

What versions of the software are you running?

xoops?
mysql?
php?

etc.

Hello group.

I need a little help here.

I am attempting to pull RSS feeds from my news module in XOOPS 2.0.13. I set the switch in the news admin module so that RSS is available.

I then went to another XOOPS portal I work with and specified UTF-8.

Can someone tell me what the http address should be to pull rss feeds from the NEWS module?

I was trying to use "http://www.mydomainhere.com/modules/news/backendt.php?topicid=2" for the rss link. This gives me no feeds in my headlines module.

Need some help here. A good howto on setting up the News module for RSS would be great.

Thanks!

We also found that wordpress was causing the blank page when trying to view accounts.

However, deactivating wordpress is not an option for us. We would like to use the wordpress (xpress) blog module.

Any ideas what causes the view account option to bring up blank page when xpress is installed? Is there a recommended modification to get this working (other than deactivating wordpress)?

Thanks!

Hello group.
I have been looking around for a realtively easy way to create my own module and wondered if there was a "module to create a module."

Any ideas for me?

Thanks all.

Wish I could help on this front. Fortunately for me, I am at the beggining of a rollout and I don't have much invested in any 2.0.10 specifics.

A suggestion...

When you setup an environment, especially if it is for a client, create the following environments: production, staging, and development/sandbox.

In my case, I am running 2.0.10RC in a "sandbox" folder. My production rollout will be with 2.0.9. The lostpass function, in my opinion, is a core rquirement of any community building function.

Do you have much data populated in your modules? If not, the "downgrade" may not really be difficult. I wish I was better informed to directly answer your question.

A question to the XOOPS community...

Are there any utilities that can move databases from one XOOPS environment into another?

shalommemphis, let's keep in touch. It seems like we are on the same implementation path.

Thanks for taking a look at the 2.0.10 lostpass.php function.

By the way, I punted and went back to 2.0.9.2 (the stable release and not the RC).

This solved my problem and lost password functions OK in this module.
